The Chinese immigrants in Brazil present many cases of mental disorders, like common mental disorders and depression. Their manifestation occurs in a structure resembling the construct of neurasthenia. Considerable life events are linked to anxiety and the ability of coping strategy.

Why is it important?
This is an unique comprehensive study on the mental health of Chinese immigrants overseas, that have shown the similarity of their psychopathological manifestations in terms of mental health.
Perspectives
This thesis, written in Portuguese, reviews aspects of the Chinese culture and investigates the mental health of ethnic Chinese immigrants living in Brazil. The sample of Chinese individuals showed much similarity with the psychopathological manifestations with their counterparts in the country of origin.
