Why is it important?
Hypertension has been described as a silent killer and true to the description, we found a number of hypertensives who were not aware of the status. It is therefore important for individuals to know their status so that they are not eaten away when they are not aware. Most of the factors can be addressed through life style changes.
Perspectives
Hypertension is a problem of global magnitude. Low and middle income countries usually think it is a disease of the affluent. This is changing and results are clear; it is here and must be confronted now not tomorrow.
