Why is it important?
We demonstrate, for the first time, that the FHR saltatory pattern is associated with fetal hypoxia, indicated by the high cord blood EPO levels and UA acidemia at birth.
Perspectives
The saltatory pattern is an early sign of hypoxia in human fetuses, which can help clinicians to intensify fetal monitoring as needed and plan potential interventions.
