What is it about?

PDX-1 is an important transcription factor in the normal functioning of adult pancreatic beta cells. It also plays a significant role in the multiplication of beta cells and in the reduction of beta-cell death. Phytochemical naringin increases the expression of PDX-1 in diabetic rats and thereby ameliorates diabetes.
