What is it about?
Leukoerythroblastosis is a specific term describing a condition resulting from infiltration of bone by foreign (tumor) cells. As a result there is a spilling of immature blood cells including neutrophil and red blood precursors. In our case the bone marrow was infiltrated by lung adenocarcinoma cells

Why is it important?
Leukoerythroblastosis in association with cytopenia often indicates a BM infiltration and warrants an early BM biopsy to rule out hematological and solid malignancies, particularly in CLL patients treated with FCR.
Perspectives
A leukoerythroblastosis with cytopenia overall has a prro prognosis. BM infiltration by solid tumors is an adverse prognostic factor and may help clinicians and patients to make informed management decisions, including an early palliative care involvement.
