What is it about?
Epilepsia partialis continua means continuing partial motor seizure without consciousness change. But the typical clinical course of sporadic Cretzfeld-Jacob Disease (sCJD) is characterized by rapid mental deterioration. In such a situation, an early diagnosis of sCJD is very hard for the clinical physician.

Why is it important?
In our case, all clinical work-ups were unremarkable, but there were consistent abnormalities on early and follow-up magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted images, which helped to an early consideration of sCJD.
Perspectives
For a neurologist, to identify the cause of EPC is usually challenging and very difficult.
