This is about lingual thyroid which had rare hurtle cell cancer

Why is it important?
It is important as lingual thyroid is quite common and remain asymptomatic. Increase in size and hemorrhage should be taken unfavorable clinical features
Perspectives
This patient had sudden increase in size of lingual thyroid and hemorrhage. Initially, lingual artery ligation was planned but patient developed obstructive dyspnoe and hence excision done. As biopsy showed hurthle cell cancer, another salvage surgery was done. it was a difficult case with poor prognosis to manage.
