What is it about?

Prevention in childhood obesity is difficult. Sweden has a high coverage in preventing childhood diseases covering 98% of the population. The present knowledge of the results is presented in the paper including new long-term data regarding diabetes type 1 and 2.

Childhood obesity is increasing in deprived areas and prevention of childhood obesity is of great interest.

Perspectives

Effective prevention models is difficult to set up and we need more knowledge. We also see data that negative health effects start to increase already in childhood in Sweden.
