What is it about?

The study measures the ability of aging adults, versus young adults, to perceive speech in noise. Most importantly, we focus on what is happening when the noise increases, and how participants respond to different types of noise.

Why is it important?

Most studies test how people react to speech in noise. In this study we took it further and studied what is happening when we move from one level of noise to a more difficult one: does it affects all people at the way? (no, aging adults suffer more than young ones) does it happen in the same way for different types of noise? (also no, but you will have to read the paper to know more)

Perspectives

I think this study takes an interesting perspective on how people, especially elderly people, perceive speech in noise, which is an everyday task to all of us
