Effects of Diet on Telomere Length

What is it about?

Shortening of telomeres is a physiological process that occurs with each cell division in somatic cells and varies with age, progressing with the aging process. Lifestyle factors may be associated with telomere shortening velocity.

Why is it important?

Our review concludes that the diet is not related to telomere length.
