What is it about?
SHPB and nuclear magnetic resonance were applied to discuss the effect of sandstone porosity on stress ware energy dissipation. Result shows that, with increased porosity, the energy dissipation of saturated sandstone decreases, whereas that of dry sandstone increases. And then this phenomenon is explained based on three aspects.

Why is it important?
whether one joint or pore structure made by 3D printing, their pore structures were still simple or simplified compared with complex pore structures of natural rock mass, so conclusion from the simplified manufactured specimen was approximate and inaccurate. In the paper, natural sandstone with nearly random pore was selected. Its effect on energy dissipation was discussed.
Perspectives
I hope that people can realize that novel test method can effectively promote the development of tranditional discipline.
