What is it about?

Polmorphisms in oxidative stress related genes cause renal failure in T2DM. This paper has showm that the polymorphisms affect varily in different ethnic groups. The predetermined of the polymorphisms may help to personalised the patient management.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that the polymorphisms of genes enable us to understand the increased cases of nephropathy in T2DM in Malaysia. We learned that different ethnic groups may required different approach of treatment.

Perspectives

It is satisfying that many questions have been answered by writing this paper. It also creates many more ideas for further study in the fields.
