What is it about?

Antimicrobial peptides are part of innate immune system and show a broad spectrum activities against bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. In this paper, we determine and shortlist a a list of putative antimicrobial peptides that binds to the spike protein of MERS-CoV.

Why is it important?

The finding of this work can lead to better and robust therapeutics as well as diagnosis for MERS-CoV.

Perspectives

This work can accelerate drug discovery of MERS-CoV and it reduce the cost of s synthesizing a large number of peptides.
