What is it about?

The purpose of this paper is to propose a variable fractional-order model with a constant time delay of the coinfection of HIV/AIDS and malaria.

Why is it important?

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and malaria are considered among the most challenging global public health issues in the last few decades. HIV and malaria are life-threatening diseases which have similar geographic distributions. They cause millions of deaths every year in several areas especially in Africa, Asia, and Latin America

Perspectives

We believe that, the variable fractional-order derivative in the proposed model is used to distinguish the effect of the memory that changes over time on the disease progression of distinct patients.
