What is it about?

Mutual coupling is a case can not be ignored in MIMO antenna. We proposed a method to reduce the mutual coupling by using two sizes SSRs. The experimental results show that the mutual coupling between the two elements is below -25 dB in both of the bands after adding the SRRs. And this antenna is only 23 mm×19 mm. Its compact size and structure can be used as a mobile terminal antenna.

Why is it important?

The antenna in this paper is very small, so many other decoupling methods are not suitable for it. The SSRs proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the mutual between the two antenna elements without influencing other performance.

Perspectives

I hope this paper can provide ideas for reducing the coupling of compact MIMO antenna.
