What is it about?

Carrying out computation on a sensor requires reliability and low energy consumption due to the fact its low capacity and energy storage. This paper presents an approach to achieve both goals.

Why is it important?

IoT has motivated the increase of the number of sensors. All this amount of sensors consume lot of energy. So, a technique that allows to reduce this consumption is wellcome. Furthermore, this sensors exchange data and it is necessary to guarantee the reliability of the whole system in order to avoid losses of data, guarantee the security of the communications and, at the same time, to save energy consumption. Thus, the protocol presented in this paper abords all this important issues in the IoT world.

Perspectives

Really, this paper opens a window to achieve a solution to the challenges that IoT and Fog computing offers to the scientific community: security, reliability, energy consumption, etc. This is a first step in this long way.
