What is it about?
Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) is an important killing mechanism of monoclonal antibodies. The purpose of the work described in this paper is twofold: first, to apply robust and highly reproducible cell-line based ADCC assays, and second, to assess the impairment of ADCC by currently developed inhibitors of BTK and PI3K. In this comparative assessment of antibodies and their potential combination partners, it is of prime importance to distinguish ADCC from the background cytotoxicity in the absence of antibodies.
