What is it about?
By improving the classic SNOW-3G encryption algorithm by using a hyperchaotic generator as an additional layer added to the standard SNOW-3G algorithm architecture to improve the randomness of its output key stream. This technique allowed us to obtain a high security compared to the standard SNOW-3G algorithm while maintaining its standardized properties.

Why is it important?
Numerical simulations, hardware implementation and experimental results using Xilinx FPGA Virtex technology have demonstrated the feasibility and the efficiency of our secure solution, and offer a good trade-off between good randomness properties, performance, and hardware resources.
Perspectives
The writing of this article has allowed us to prove once again the importance of chaotic systems in the field of information security and opens a line of thought on the security of new generations of mobile networks.
