What is it about?
the access network needs more channels at high speed, there are many network configurations designed for this goal, the improvement and upgrading existing networks is the good challenge. using wavelength conversion has many advantages.

Why is it important?
The results proved that the highest number of users can be supported at 192 with a speed of 156Mb/s for each client using one optical line terminal (OLT). This result gives the opportunity to reduce the overall cost of the system. On the other hand, the downlink speed can be doubled if 1: 32 splitter is used. Depending on the user’s demands the downstream speed of customers can be 625Mb/s for 1: 16 the splitting ratio or 1.25 Gb/s for 1: 8 splitter.
Perspectives
i believe that the architecture can provide an appropriate upgrade of wavelength division multiplexing networks. Further studies should be carried out to validate and optimize the topology.
