What is it about?

Firt of all a finite element model was proposed after the calibration and validation on the previous experimental results of GFRP RC columns. Then, the proposed numerical model was utilized for an extensive parametric study to investigate the sensitivity of different critical parameters of columns. Finally, a comparative analytical study of capacity equations of GFRP RC compression members was performed.

Why is it important?

Numerical modelling saves time and cost of the experimentation work. A large number of variables can be dealt at a time in numerical modelling giving the accurate results. The effects of variation of different geometric and material parameters of the structural members can be investigated through numerical modelling which is not possible through experimental work.
