What is it about?

We monitored propagation of nerve impulses from cell body to dendrite. We found this process highly unreliable. The amplitude of the calcium signal in distal dendrite varies from trial to trial.

Perspectives

The action potential associated Ca2+ signal amplitudes in some apical tuft branches randomly vary from moment to moment. In repetitive measurements, successful AP invasions are followed by complete failures.
