Why is it important?

The fungal endophytes in polluted environments would be helping the plants in multiple ways to withstand several stress factors like alkalinity, salinity, high concentration of heavy metals etc. They were also found to produce many industrially important enzymes.

Perspectives

The extremozymes produced by fungi living in stressed environment could have uses in multiple industries.
