What is it about?

This paper describes graphene, one of the advanced materials are very sensitive to biofilm formation and it can be used as a sensor for biofilm detection. It mentioned an electrochemical technique, but this is just an example. It will lead to many versatile possibilities in the future to solve and utilize biofilm problems in industries.

Why is it important?

Biofilms has been well known and people are going to realize that biofilm affect many industries and fields from medical fronts and some industrial problems such as corrosion to kitchen and our other daily activities. But the problem is how to detect biofilms, leading to control biofilms and to solve industrial problems. This paper describes a possibility for the utilization of graphene as censoring. I believe it will lead to open the door for more versatile possibilities in the future.

Perspectives

This paper is just a beginning for us. My colleagues and I will investigate the use of this advanced materials further. I would like more researchers to join our topic.
