What is it about?

Arthropod eradications are going up with globalisation - what can we do to fight back ? Understanding how populations of invasive species operate during the invasion process can help us to devise intelligent responses, including eradication where this is warranted and feasible.

Why is it important?

The economic, environmental and social cost of incursions of unwanted organisms is rising but there is no loss of previous pest problems, so the total burden of pests on food production is building.

Perspectives

This paper resulted from a successful and productive working group with four meetings at NCEAS, Santa Barbara.
