What is it about?
Forevergreen set out to capture the warmth and imperfection of stop-motion, where every frame feels like a newly carved piece of art. Achieving that look traditionally would require immense manual labor. The texture batching tool made it possible to automatically generate frame-specific, “wobbling” textures, giving each shot an organic, handcrafted feel while keeping production manageable.

Why is it important?
This workflow delivered handcrafted variation at a scale that would have been impossible with manual methods. It enabled a volunteer team of over 200 artists to create a high-end aesthetic using limited resources, all while integrating seamlessly into the existing production pipeline. The approach preserved the creative vision and allowed the team to focus on performance, design, and storytelling.
Perspectives
The texture batching system became a bridge between art and technology — invisible in execution, but essential to the look of the film. By automating what would otherwise have been a massive manual process, it opened up creative possibilities and maintained a consistent handcrafted style from start to finish.
