What is it about?

When little Nora's parents separate, the Earth splits into two parts. She now has to go back and forth between the two hemispheres to visit them. Problem is, her backpack is getting heavier and heavier… This is a 2D short film about divorce and communication and we hope it can help families and children to better understand each other.

Why is it important?

Our film highlights the importance of listening and communication within the family. All too often, children find themselves confronted with situations that are beyond their control. It's not about pointing the finger at the parents, but about giving a voice to these children who are going through similar realities. We're proud of this film, because it has already demonstrated the reach of its message: it provokes thought among young people, touches parents who sometimes recognize themselves in it years later, and moves even those who have never experienced family separation.

Perspectives

Creating this film was a dream come true. I was lucky enough to make it with my friends, which made the adventure even more precious. For the first time, I was able to show the full extent of my cinematic skills in a professional setting. It's often difficult to reveal one's full potential through personal projects, but this film enabled me to do just that. Today, I can proudly say that I've made a film that reflects me, that tackles an important subject and that deserves to be told. I was able to explore my visual ideas in depth, and with my team, we pushed our style as far as we could, despite the time constraints. After more than 50 versions of the storyboard and an art direction that evolved in a thousand forms, the film is here. It exists. It lives, it travels and it makes us travel with it. With this project, I've finally found my place in the world I've always been deeply in love with: cinema.
