What is it about?
FAMLEM (FAst ModuLar Energy Meter) is an open-source, high-frequency, platform-independent energy measurement tool designed to measure energy consumption at the code-level. Unlike traditional energy assessment solutions limited by low sampling rates or platform restrictions (e.g., Intel RAPL), FAMLEM achieves precise, fine-grained energy profiling across multiple hardware components, including CPU, RAM, SSDs, and network interfaces.

Why is it important?
FAMLEM is able to measure energy consumption independent for all components of a computer. It is reliable and affordable.
Perspectives
FAMLEM is an energy measurement tool that should be used in specific scenarios only. That is, when developers are interested in the power consumption of individual components other then the CPU. If they are for example interested in RAM or SSD power consumption when optimizing databases, existing solutions provide only limited help.
