What is it about?
This paper pertains to the proposition of a delicate one-handed finger interaction technology for heads-up computing. This technology exploits the proprioceptive advantages of the face as the contact surface, in conjunction with the imperceptible characteristics of micro-gestures, to enhance the social acceptability and privacy of hand-to-face gestures in public environments. Its implementation is founded on the utilization of a finger IMU capable of collecting data generated by finger movement. The feasibility of this interaction technique has been verified in three public environments.

Why is it important?
The distinctiveness of this work resides in the following aspects. Firstly, it innovatively employs the face as the contact surface and combines finger micro-gestures, fully leveraging the proprioceptive advantages of the face and the imperceptible nature of micro-gestures, thereby substantially augmenting the social acceptability and privacy of hand-to-face interaction gestures in public environments. Secondly, through the use of a finger-worn IMU to collect data, it offers a reliable technical means for the implementation of the interaction technology. Thirdly, the verification in three public environments heightens the practicability and reliability of this technology, providing novel ideas and solutions for the interaction methods of heads-up computing.
Perspectives
As for me, the ability to share this work constitutes both a privilege and an opportunity. It affords me the opportunity to present our innovative research outcomes in the domain of human-computer interaction to a broader audience, facilitating academic exchanges and the collision of ideas. Through sharing, it is potentially possible to stimulate more counterparts to attach significance to the social acceptability and privacy within the human-computer interaction field and to conduct more in-depth discussions and research on the interaction technology of heads-up computing, jointly propelling the development of this domain. I anticipate that readers can be inspired after reading this article and profoundly contemplate the development of human-computer interaction technology and its implications for society and individuals. If such an effect can be attained, it would be highly gratifying.
