What is it about?

Next-generation factories will be increasingly based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. This will complicate their safety assessment due to higher complexity, unpredictability and uncertainties. Traditional model-based engineering and assessment approaches need to be adapted to this new context, which is a big challenge. This paper presents the state-of-the-art, challenges and open issues through a systematic review of the existing literature in this area.
