What is it about?
The use of upper 6GHz spectrum portion for 5G networks is currently being considered to solve the spectrum crunch issue that affects lower frequencies. This work represents the first published field trial of a commercial-like 5G deployment in an urban settings.

Our results confirm that the use of upper 6GHz can increase performance of mobile radio networks while still ensuring high coverage.

We hope this article can guide researchers, manufacturers and policymakers by giving a scientific recollection of what level of performance can be expected when the upper 6GHz spectrum is used for 5G and Radio Access Networks
