What is it about?
"Redirected Walking" is a unique illusion in VR that allows a small room to feel much larger, and it's known that this effect is amplified when touching something. We have now utilized a moving table as the object to touch, enabling us to provide a wider range of experiences.

Why is it important?
Many VR experiences require vast spaces, but in reality, room sizes are limited, so free walking as a mode of movement is not feasible. However, with "Redirected Walking," it may be possible to walk in large spaces even in a small room using one's own feet. Our research contributes to making this possible.
Perspectives
I hope writing this article will increase awareness of the effectiveness of combining Redirected Walking with robotics.
