What is it about?

AsyncGBP is a new framework that integrates the original OpenSSL software stack with the heterogeneous GPU-based accelerator. It features an OpenSSL-compatible asynchronous design, which efficiently aggregates numerous requests and schedules GPU for computation. It also provides a fine-grained GPU-based cryptographic algorithm stack that includes X25519, Ed25519, and ChaCha20-Poly1305.

Why is it important?

AsyncGBP is designed to overcome some of the limitations of current GPU-based solutions and provides an OpenSSL-compatible asynchronous design that can efficiently aggregate numerous requests and schedule GPU for computation. By using GPUs to speed up data encryption, this work has the potential to significantly improve the performance of data centers and other networked systems.

Perspectives

I hope this work will be helpful to the current state of computer networks and data centers, mitigating the performance overhead of secure data transmission.
