What is it about?

With the increasing number of smart objects deployed in industrial cyber-physical systems, industral networks present strong heterogeneity, billions connections, which makes it difficult to meet the real-time and reliability. On one hand, although there are many protocols, such as EtherCAT, CANopen, Profibus, has been designed for industrial networks. But they are mainly optimized for short packets. Along with the traffic characteristic is changed in ICPS, the protocol need to be re-optimized. On the other hand, traditional reliable protocols in IP-based protocol may introduce a heavy overhead, which is not suitble for bandwidth-limited industrial networks. Moreover, the ICPS initiative productivity requires industrial protocols that support efficient and user-friendly interface. To this end, we propose a novel I/O mapping protocol (IO-M) for the industrial network

Why is it important?

We apply IO mapping model to ICPS system to provide real-time, reliable transmission and user-friendly interface.
