What is it about?

The main contributions of LifeLens are a minimal, consistent and intuitive UI design and a search bar that allows users to search for images using text. A timeline that allows users to browse through their lifelog data. A new user feedback feature that allows users to select a group of images from the results and the system would find all images similar to the selected ones. A filter bar that allows users to filter their search results based on the time, location and people. A search result page that allows users to view their search in a grid view. A detail page that allows users to view additional details of a specific image

Why is it important?

Lifelogging is a process of collecting, organising and revisiting events of an individual's life using a variety of wearable devices. One of the crucial requirements of the lifelog system is the ability to find any specific event in history. Searching for a specific event through a copious amount of data presents many challenges such as ease of finding an event, the accuracy of the event found, the speed of combing through the available data and so on. User interfaces for lifelog systems need to provide easy-to-use and intuitive functionalities that can help users manage their lifelog data effectively. User interfaces also need to support users’ recall and reflection on their lifelog data by providing appropriate cues, feedback, visualisations, summaries, and narratives. Furthermore, user interfaces need to adapt to different user preferences, necessities, and contexts, such as age, culture, personality, motivation, and goals. These challenges can be translated into the guidelines for designing the User Interface (UI) and User eXperience (UX) components of any lifelog system. Recent advancements in the field have resulted in various lifelog systems, to name a few, Memento, Virtual reality lifelog explorer and Lifeseeker 3.0 . Each of these systems provides a unique UI/UX for the users to interact with the system.
