What is it about?
In this work, we describe the state of the art in both post-quantum cryptography and the currently used electronic identification documents such as ID cards and passports. The goal is to set a road map for making eCards resistant to cryptographic threats that could arise from quantum computers. The discussed aspects include the used cryptographic schemes, protocol design, as well as hardware specifications and physical protection.
