What is it about?
StoryWorld is a system for procedural narrative in video games, that is driven by events to simulate characters, items and their interactions. Quests are created when a character is unable to fulfill their own desire, so they ask another character for help. The randomness of events, character preferences & memories and more, diversifies the resulting quests. As quests are also linked to desires, believability is addressed.

Why is it important?
Procedurally generated quests in video games can feel dull due to them lacking an in-world motivation. Additionally, if they do not permanently affect the world, it can feel like it was all for nothing. StoryWorld attempts to work towards tackling this.
