What is it about?
Autism Spectrum Disorder affects 1 in 160 children throughout the world in their learning process and social interaction. As a result, without adequate education, these kids present difficulties to integrate into society and developing independently. In order to address the developmental issues and lack of attention faced by the children, we present a social robot that supports kids to explore the world through different dynamics as well as improve social and academic skills with activities. The robot's name is Cogui, from the Latin word "Cogitare" which means "to think". Cogui presents two eyes on two screens that can show different expressions. Also, it has a mobile phone application where the user can interact with the robot and vice versa.

Why is it important?
Cogui shows a creative way to teach children with learning difficulties. It could be part of the educational resources that are sought to be implemented in the new education era, as a complement to the sequence that the institutions and specialized centers follow to help these kids. Also, the social robot works patiently so that is an opportunity to help in that cases where the tutors need more time to see better results in a student that receives special education.
