What is it about?

This study examines how privacy is integrated into software engineering, particularly following the introduction of data protection regulations like GDPR. Embracing this principle is crucial for both the theory and practice of Software Engineering, necessitating a broader understanding of the subject matter.

Why is it important?

Despite being widely discussed, privacy by design poses challenges due to its interdisciplinary nature. However, with various disciplines involved and our reliance on software systems for daily tasks, fields like Software Engineering must offer methods and tools that facilitate integrating privacy as a process into systems.

Perspectives

This work shows an effort towards understanding professional practice difficulties, so we may see more understanding and methodologies to help practitioners in this endeavour.
