We design a surveillance platform, which uses Qt, FFmpeg, streaming technology, and YOLOv5 .

What is it about?

With the development of multimedia, video surveillance systems are becoming more popular. However, the current video surveillance systems have a general function and are unable to provide Intelligent perception.The intelligent video surveillance platform is divided into three main modules: video playback module, video surveillance module, and intelligent detection module.

Why is it important?

The usage of surveillance systems in industry is widespread; factories, workshops, etc. can all have them installed. Its expansive field of view enables prompt feedback in the event of traffic congestion or a risky condition in daily life settings like on highways, at petrol stations, and other accident-prone locations. Video surveillance systems have experienced virtualization, digitization, and cyberization with the advancement of hardware and software[12–15]. Most present surveillance systems only have a single function like surveillance recording, video playback, and screen switching, cause administrative hassles, can only play surveillance footage, and are unable to intelligently analyze them[19–21]. It is more important to be able to give users intuitive feelings through things like expert video analysis, user-friendly operation, clear interface, quick interaction, etc. These demands drive us to create this platform.
