What is it about?
The proposed ADES (autonomous drone exploration system) enables the drone to, just like human beings, first observe the surrounding environment in an unknown environment and then predict the saliency to determine the exploration direction.

Why is it important?
This is the first drone system that is based on salient prediction of multiple discontinuous images for drone exploration.
Perspectives
This article is just a beginning of how to apply image salient prediction to a drone exploration task. We consider some real issues of developing such a system in this work, but I believe there are still many problems or challenges not yet being discovered and solved for real world drone exploration in unknown environments.
