What is it about?
This work is a first step towards understanding how fitness tracker data can be visualized in augmented reality (AR), more specifically, on the user's body in the style of a SnapChat-like AR face filter. To that end, we created several AR designs and tested them in pilot studies to collect qualitative feedback.

Why is it important?
Many users abandon fitness trackers after a few months, even though this technology can bring various health benefits. By showing fitness tracker data in augmented reality on top of the user's body, we aim to improve identification with health-related data and motivation of fitness tracker use.
Perspectives
Visualizing fitness tracker data in AR can bring novel ways in which we perceive and interact with fitness and health-related data. Possible applications might be in personal health and fitness, increasing health literacy among older adults, and supporting professionals such as gym instructors or doctors.
