What is it about?

The concept of "kawaii" from Japanese culture, representing cuteness, vulnerability, and charm, has become popular worldwide. Researchers have explored how kawaii design elements affect users' experiences with robots and virtual characters, including their appearance, behaviour, and sound. In this study, we investigated whether voices can be kawaii by examining the vocal qualities of voice assistants, called kawaii vocalics.
