What is it about?
We applied an AI model to detect, in real-time, offensive comments and hate speech on Twitter directed at political candidates in the Brazilian 2022 elections. We show that such a system allows for the measurement of online violence levels that can, in turn, be used to understand trends and patterns of online violence and its relationships with other online and offline events.
