What is it about?
This paper establishes preliminary presentation and visual guiding guidelines for sign language interpretation in virtual reality 360-degree videos. Findings from testing show differences in presence and blocking between the presentation methods, and a difference in usability between arrows and radar guiding.

Why is it important?
Sign language interpretation is important as text captioning can be inaccessible to Deaf individuals. Sign language interpretation is also important for sign language students learning in an online environment. Sign language however remains largely underexplored in VR.
Perspectives
Hopefully this paper leads to further research investigating sign language in VR. My ultimate goal is that this research acts as a springboard to inspire further work to build towards the establishment of more rigorous VR sign language guidelines.
