What is it about?
Reduplication is a systematic repetition of a word or a syllable, either exactly or with a partial change in the phonological or morphological structure. This paper presents the identification and modelling of reduplication in Assamese language. Assamese attests one of the highest numbers of reduplications among the Indo-Aryan languages.

Why is it important?
We explain reduplication uses in Assamese sentences statistically through our reduplication identification system. Reduplication is discussed as a linguistic perspective as well as a modelling perspective.
Perspectives
This is perhaps the first attempt to identify reduplication occurrence in Assamese sentences. The identification system achieves F1 scores of 96.07%. This paper is also the first that describes the modelling of reduplication processes.
