What is it about?
This paper aims to model the spatial neighbors of local image features in regular and irregular contextual regions. By establishing the spatial neighborhoods of local image features, we incorporate them into the classical Bag of Words model by making an extension to it.

Why is it important?
The state-of-the-art Bag of words (BoW) model is used in various computer vision tasks such as image classification, object categorization, recognition, etc. It encodes the whole image information by treating each local image feature independently, giving an order-less representation of an image.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This articles deals with bag of words in images.
