What is it about?
"FOR THE FUTURE OF THE PAST" is an interactive audiovisual installation which supports a (re)connection of the four primordial elements with consciousness and ethics, questioning the world, society and life through an interaction process. It aims to (re)create meanings or reinforce meanings about the environment, life and globalization. It does not give us answers, but it allows us to question our choices.

Why is it important?
We are living in moments that, on a micro and macro level, past, present and future blend in unison. In this installation, participants will be able to manipulate these elements in real time, calling for a conscious, critical and participatory look at the environmental degradation caused by increasing industrialization. It is urgent to change mentalities, attitudes and behaviors, in order to develop a true symbiosis between humankind and nature, harmonizing the relationship between species. The artefact aims to provide the opportunity for the observer to co-produce a poetic narrative with the purpose of evoking and arousing feelings and emotions with the power to influence their way of feeling, thinking and acting in a way that remains longer in the memory of who observes/interacts. In this way, it creates a series of events that happened (in the past, like a memory), happen (in the present) or will happen (in the future). It is a space for the permanent negotiation of senses and emotions, dedicated to the polysemic relationships between image and sound.
Perspectives
The installation “FOR THE FUTURE OF THE PAST” incorporates an integrated vision of reality from a socio-environmental point of view. The greatest challenge facing humanity today is different from all the others that have occurred in the past: preserving our common home, Planet Earth, biodiversity, the ecosystem, building alternative forms of coexistence based on truly sustainable development. This is the great adventure that humanity faces and a challenge for everyone. THE PAST represents the key to the future, establishing the deep understanding of our relationship with nature that is the basis of all human activity. When human beings connect in a balanced and harmonious way with nature, helping each other, they become aware of their actions/functions.
