What is it about?
The draw resistance of cigarettes is an important product quality specification. we have shown for the first time that cigarettes data can be collected and predicted in real-time. This was previously thought impossible as the speed making-cigarette machine can achieve 7200cigs/min. we have used historical data to confirm the accuracy of the prediction model.

Why is it important?
Our work can help operators easily control the draw resistance of cigarettes. We can give an alarm in time for abnormal conditions, and make the control more timely and accurate.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long-standing collaborations. This article has been successful applied in a tobacco plant.
