What is it about?

This project looks into the ideas of using mixed reality to enhance collaboration in the educational context. We conducted a simulation in which we created two (2) different scenarios. Conventional screens used in games, such as First Person Perspective (FPP) and Third Person Perspective (TPP), are frequently used in screenplays. Within Mixed Reality, while other things reside inside a virtual reality world where they co-exist, and employed the Leap Motion Controller to provide mid-air gestures (controls).

Why is it important?

Finding shows that it is possible to achieve mixed reality technology using the available technology of Augmented reality, Virtual Reality and some sensors such as a Leap Motion Controller. In addition, the prototype application earned a very good rating of its functionalities and is, according to the participants, informative enough to facilitate learning. While this application does not mean to replace current methods in learning, the data shows that this prototype can be a good alternative learning experience for students.

Perspectives

This paper gave me the a clear idea of how mixed reality such as Augmented reality can be used in education specifically teaching hardware assembly simulation. Building a PC using mixed reality gave the students more interactive way in learning
