Recovering Mobile Applications based on Backend-as-a-Service from Cyber Attacks

What is it about?

MIRES is an intrusion recovery service for mobile applications that use Backend-as-a-Service. MIRES service introduces a new approach to recovery the state of the application that follows the idea of "divide to conquer", as also presents an additional recovery process for users to recover their own actions. Our prototype was implemented using the Google's Firebase service as Backend-as-a-Service.

Why is it important?

MIRES is the first intrusion recovery service that focuses on the Backend-as-a-Service cloud service and on mobile applications. Moreover, it introduces a novel approach of dividing the recovery process into two phases, in order to minimize the unavailability of the mobile application.
